Junior Explorers Virunga Introduction
This Junior Explorers Virunga delivery was such a surprise. Instead of concentrating on one environment, it highlighted the entire Virunga Mountain area in Africa. After exploring this very diverse area of Africa, the lesson honed in on one animal of the Virunga, the gorilla. The entire online adventure this month was all about saving a gorilla that was seen acting odd and then went missing.
Junior Explorers is a company which provides monthly subscription boxes based on environmental themes. It includes toys, learning activities, collectors items, and an extensive online experience.

Jack learned how to draw a gorilla.
The animal information cards we received are on the left and the postcards we sent to our friends are on the right.
This is the fingerprinting activity that required the ink strip. Lila was napping, but Jack picked her to be his buddy who we would compare his fingerprints to. We compared Jack and Lila’s fingerprints when she woke up and we read about how gorillas have fingerprints too!
Now off we go on our online adventure!
